It certainly pays to have friends in high places you can depend on when things fall apart!
And that is certainly the case for Tyrese Gibson after he revealed his superstar chum Will Smith gave him a whopping $5 million to help him fund his ongoing custody battle with his ex-wife.
He said he would now be able to pay his daughter’s legal fees and stay off the internet as fans have requested. He wrote:
When we show UP for each-other there’s nothing that can’t be done I️ repeat nothing…… My wife kept the news away from me cause I’ve been on with lawyers all day but our family and our sister Jada-Pinkett Smith and my brother Will Smith just sent us 5 million dollars to help keep us afloat- You’ve guys asked me to get off and stay off the Internet now that my daughters legal fees will be paid I️ will listen….. The Smiths’s and their whole family has always shown up for The Gibson’s Uncle Will you’re an uncle for real…..
The 38-year-old rapper and actor has been engaged in a bitter courtroom feud with ex-wife Norma Mitchell Gibson over their 10-year-old daughter Shayla.
They’re known for having one of the strongest marriages in Hollywood.
So it may surprise some people to hear Jada Pinkett-Smith has admitted that one of the secrets to her 20-year marriage to Will Smith is admitting that their relationship isn’t perfect.
‘As long as you know that your relationship is not perfect, because that is when you get in trouble,’ she told the Daily Telegraph.
The 45-year-old went on to say that it’s relating to each other’s imperfections that makes their marriage work so well.
She also revealed last month on the Loose Women panel that the secret was ‘friendship.’
‘We celebrate twenty this year. I think the secret is just friendship.’
She has previously spoken about her ‘open relationship’ with Will Smith and recently slammed rumours of them being ‘swingers’.
And Jada Pinkett Smith once again addressed her ‘unconventional’ marriage to the former Fresh Prince Of Bel Air star, 48, as she made a very stylish appearance on Monday’s episode of ITV’s Lorraine.
The 45-year-old American star – who is in the UK to promote new movie Girls Trip – admitted that couples had to do what works best for them and also revealed that it was a given her children would follow in their Hollywood footsteps.
Jada, who recently dispelled hearsay that her and Will are swingers, revealed to Lorraine: ‘People have to be married in a way that works. As couples, we really do have to see what is best for us.’
Will and Jada first met in 1994 on the set of his TV show The Fresh Prince Of Bel Air, when she was auditioning for the role of his girlfriend, ultimately losing out because she was considered too short.
The internet went into meltdown as The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air cast reunited for the first time in two decades. And show star Will Smith, 48, continued to feed the frenzy as he shared more snaps from the lunch date in Malibu.
Taking to Facebook on Wednesday, he shared a selfie from the outing, which he sweetly captioned: ‘Lunch with my BFF’s… I missed my Uncle Phil today’.
His comments were made in tribute to James Avery – who played Uncle Phil in the sitcom and sadly died in 2013.
Last week fans called for the show to be brought back with Will as Phil. And Alfonso Ribeiro, who played Carlton Banks, sent followers into another frenzy as he posted a snap of the cast reuniting on Monday. The actor, 45, shared a picture of the on-screen family enjoying a day at Nobu in Malibu. The nostalgic picture showed Tatyana Ali, 38, who played Ashley Banks, looking glamorous in a silver dress as she stood next to a suited Alfonso.
He linked arms with Karyn Parsons, 50, who played pretty but ditsy Hilary Banks.
Main character Will Smith, 48,- who played himself, stood beaming in the middle as he held onto Daphne Etta Maxwell, 68, who played his on-screen mum Vivian.
And butler Joseph Marcell, who played Geoffrey Butler was also on-hand.
Remembering the late James Avery, who starred as Uncle Phil, Alfonso captioned the snap: ‘Always amazing to spend an afternoon with my Fresh Prince family.
‘Wishing that James Avery was still with us to make this complete,’ the father-of-three captioned the snap. James died in 2013 aged 68 from complications following open heart surgery at Glendale Memorial Medical Center.
It has been over 20 years since this actor rapped, ‘Now this is a story all about how my life got flipped-turned upside down’, in the final episode of this beloved show. And while Fresh Prince Of Bel-Air re-runs still air around the world, fans have called on its titular star Will Smith to bring the show back and star, not as the Fresh Prince, but as Uncle Phil.
Calls came after a screen grab of video of the 48-year-old bungee jumping surfaced online in which he looks like the late actor James Avery, who played his on-screen uncle.
Buzzfeed was the first to report on the image which was blowing fans’ minds across social media. The video was captured by the star on a GoPro as he lept off a bridge in Victoria Falls in Zambia last week. For one split second, the actor morphed into Uncle Phil and that was enough for calls to do a reboot of this hit show which aired for six seasons from 1990-1996.
While some fans were chocked at just how much will looked like the late James, others like Twitter user @Mr_LCancer saw more.
One off the bucket list! Will Smith bungee jumps Victoria Falls.
Will Smith finally lived out a long-held dream of bungee jumping. The 48-year-old actor was flying high in the sky as he went bungee jumping on Friday at Victoria Falls, the border of Zambia and Zimbabwe. The action star filmed the entire experience as he jumped off one of the Seven Natural Wonders of the World.
The video, which Smith shot himself, begins with him standing on the edge of the falls with his bungee gear on. The instructors ask him to raise his hands and Smith takes the plunge.
“This is going to be a cool shot,” Smith says with a laugh when he reaches the bottom.
“This is crazy, bungee jumping Victoria Falls, I’ve been wanting to do this for like almost 20 years,” he adds, while pointing the camera up to the bridge over 300 feet above him.
“I’ve got high blood pressure, though, so they need to come get me from hanging upside down,” he jokes. More pics and video below..
