An Indonesian woman who was planning to blow herself up outside Jakarta’s presidential palace has been jailed for seven and a half years.
Dian Yulia Novi, 28, (Pictured middle beside her husband)was arrested late last year on suspicion of plotting to blow herself up outside the palace during the changing of the guard. She was arrested along with her husband, Muhamad Nur Solikin.
It is the first time a woman has been convicted in Indonesia for planning such an attack.
Prosecutors had demanded a 10-year sentence for Novi, whom they said received instructions to carry out the attack from Bahrun Naim, an Indonesian militant believed to be fighting with Islamic State in Syria.
Novi’s lawyer said Monday:
‘Her sentence was reduced because she admitted to her actions.’
Judges delivered the verdict earlier than expected because Novi is pregnant and due to give birth in early September, her lawyer said.
Her husband is on trial for the same plot. His next hearing, at which he is expected to enter a plea, is scheduled for September 6.
Kamsi said Novi, who was believed to be radicalized through social media while employed as a domestic worker in Taiwan, did not intend to appeal her verdict.
The 33-year-old businesswoman dated the rapper – who is now married to Kim Kardashian West with whom he has two children, North, four, and Saint, 19 months – for two years before splitting from him in 2010.
The model told Complex magazine’s Everyday Struggle on Monday that despite being left ‘heartbroken’ at the end of the romance, she has experienced ‘constant bullying’ from him for the past seven years.
‘In all of my relationships, I have been the one that’s heartbroken,’ said the best friend of Blac Chyna.
‘I have never cheated on any of my boyfriends, and still have never said anything mean about Kanye … This is after six, seven years of constant bullying from him.’
Amber found the aftermath of the break-up particularly difficult when the Famous rapper released his 2010 album My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy, which fans assumed was about their relationship.
She said of the album: ‘That is an extreme form of bullying as well, to have such a huge voice to put out an album, to say whatever the f**k you want. I had to just take that L. I had to take the heartbreak on top of it.’
While Amber is ‘happy’ to be a part of the album due to its groundbreaking nature, the model insists she was almost driven to suicide by the backlash she received after its release.
‘It’s a great part of history and hip-hop, and that’s cool, and I’m happy to be a part of it, but during that time was not a great time for me because I’m famous and I’m broke, can’t date anyone else, can’t say anything on the internet because Kanye has such a voice.
‘If I was going to kill myself, I would have done it during those times,’ she confessed.
And Amber is still angry at Kanye for mentioning her four-year-old son Sebastian – whom she has with her ex-husband Wiz Khalifa – during a Twitter row with the fellow rapper last year.
‘You don’t say nothing about my baby.
‘I was quiet for so long. I could have got a reality show just off the fact that I was his girlfriend.
‘I could have wrote a book just off the fact that I was his girlfriend. I said, “You know what? I’m a real a** b*h.
‘I’mma take the high road and work my a off, and I’m going to get everything I get on my own, so nobody can be like, ‘Yo, I gave her that.”
‘The only thing I got from him was fame, and fame don’t get you no f***ing money. Period.’
The model is now dating Shayaa Bin Abraham-Joseph, better known by his stage name 21 Savage.
She was last married to singer Wiz Khalifa, 29.

Detroit police say the death of rocker Chris Cornell, the lead singer of the bands Soundgarden and later Audioslave, is being investigated as a possible suicide.
Police spokesman Michael Woody told The Associated Press on Thursday morning that he can’t provide details on what led investigators to make that determination, but noted there were “basic things observed at the scene.”
Woody says Cornell died at the MGM Grand Detroit hotel. He says Cornell’s wife called a family friend and asked him to check on Cornell. Woody says the friend forced open a hotel room door and found Cornell on the bathroom floor.
TMZ is reporting that when the family friend forced his way into Cornell’s room, he found him with a band around his neck. There was reportedly no blood at the scene and police suspect it’s suicide.
“When the units arrived they were met by a gentleman who indicated that Chris Cornell had been found in his room,” he said.
“When officers went to the room they found Chris Cornell laying in his bathroom, unresponsive and he had passed away. We are investigating it as a possible suicide but we need to wait on the medical examiner to determine the cause and manner of death.”
The 52-year-old Cornell was on tour and performed on Wednesday night in Detroit with Soundgarden.
The Wayne County Medical Examiner’s office will make an official determination about the cause of death.
Aaron Hernandez’s fiancée and their daughter were pictured for the first time today since the convicted murderer’s suicide. Shayanna Jenkins-Hernandez 27, carried a car seat for her four-year-old daughter Avielle and was accompanied by a friend as she left her mother Jodi’s house in Bristol, Connecticut.
The usually immaculately turned-out Jenkins-Hernandez appeared tired and drawn as she left the row house shortly before sunset.
Earlier in the day, DailyMail.com discovered Hernandez had been plotting his suicide for some time, giving away all of his possessions to other prisoners before he was found hanged in his cell alongside three handwritten notes. He had also soaped the floor of his cell so that he would not be able to stand if he changed his mind.
Jenkins-Hernandez started dating Hernandez in high school, and the pair continued their on-again-off-again relationship into college and beyond.
They kept the relationship going even after he left her behind to attend the University of Florida while she went to community college in their home town of Bristol, Connecticut.
She was by his side throughout his time in the NFL, even adopting his last name, and in October 2012 – during the baby shower for Avielle – he proposed marriage.
Then, in 2013, Hernandez was accused of the murder of semi-pro football player Odin Lloyd – a crime for which he would be found guilty two years later.
Jenkins-Hernandez stood by her man throughout the trial, and appeared as a witness for the defense – which is believed to have led to the sisters becoming estranged.
She also appeared throughout his trial for the 2012 murders of Daniel de Abreu and Safiro Furtado, for which he was found not guilty just days before he killed himself.
His death has officially been ruled a suicide.
A grieving mum has reportedly claimed that her son, 11, killed himself after his girlfriend, 13, faked her own death in a social media prank that went badly wrong.
Tysen Benz, 11, died at a hospital on Tuesday after he was found hanged almost a month ago.
Now his mother, Katrina Goss, has spoken out to allege that the girlfriend, 13, co-ordinated her fake death as a stunt with her friends. Mrs Goss said the unnamed girl should be held legally responsible.
According to the New York Post,Tysen is said to have begun secretly dating the girl after buying a new phone without his mum’s knowledge.
She had made it look like she had killed herself, the mum said, and used other friends and their social media accounts to make it look like she killed herself.
“So, he believed her and said, ‘I’m going to kill myself,’” she reportedly said.
“I feel like, yeah, they’re young and all that, but I feel like when you’re 13, you’re completely knowledgeable of your choices and you know right from wrong”I do feel like she took advantage of a younger boy to control and manipulate him.She told NYPost.
Police confirmed there’s an investigation into Tysen’s death, but declined to comment directly on his mother’s allegations.
