At 46 Queen Latifah has revealed she is finally ready to start a family – after getting the partying ‘out my system’.
The Star actress, who has previously talked about her plans to adopt, said she had thought long and hard about motherhood.
‘I’m a little bit of a procrastinator,’ she joked, while speaking at the Television Critics Association.
‘I had some things to deal with. I had to get a lot of partying out of my system early in life for about 40 years. You know what I’m saying. I’m good now. I think I’m ready.’
But despite her openness about her plans, Latifah – real name Dana Elaine Owens – said she wouldn’t be providing frequent updates to fans.
‘You’ll know when you see me with the rugrat on my shoulder with the little backpack and all this. “Oh, she did it!”‘ she said. ‘That’s kind of how it will happen.’
The actress is currently thought to be single, after splitting from her choreographer girlfriend of three years, Eboni Nichols, in late 2015.
Speaking about her plans last year, Latifah explained that she wouldn’t necessarily open her home to a newborn.
