A married foster mum has been accused of raping a boy in her care more than 500 times. Joelle Barozzini, 46, reportedly passed herself off in public as his girlfriend, claiming she had a disease which caused premature ageing.
The brunette is said to have started the abuse at a party in Greensburg, Pennsylvania when he was just 16.
“I was nervous,” he told a court. “She kissed me. She grabbed me by the hand and pulled me into her room.”
They had sex with the bedroom door open while Barozzini’s husband was asleep on a sofa, he said.
“I was just really scared that somebody was going to see. I was kind of frightened. I really didn’t know what to do.”
He said he and Barozzini had sex “hundreds of times” in several rooms of her five bedroom home and in hotels when she took him away for weekends.
“I was honestly too nervous to say no,” he testified. “Every single time, just about, would be against my will.”
Barozzini reportedly texted him nude selfies, gave him alcohol and said things such as: “We’re boyfriend and girlfriend.” He added:
“There was times when it was not happening at all and she wanted to go back to play the mother role, as she would call it. “And there was times it was daily or every other day.”
The alleged victim, now 24, said he tried to tell a relative and a pal about the abuse but they did not believe him.
He added “there were sweet moments,” and Barozzini was upset when he moved out in 2013. Prosecutor Jim Lazar accused Barozzini of using “psychological coercion” to keep the teen from telling anyone about the sex.
District Judge James Albert ordered Barozzini to stand trial on on a string of charges including rape, sexual assault and corruption of minors, reports says Tribune-Review . She is out on $50,000 bond.
