Miley Cyrus opened up about why she’s quit smoking marijuana during her appearance onThe Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon Wednesday.
The 24-year-old said her decision to refrain came as she prepares to release her sixth studio album.
‘This record at this moment is the most important album that I’ve ever made,’ the Tennessee native said. ‘So I wanted to make sure that I was super-clear in the way I’m talking.’
The former Hannah Montana star, who’s already released two singles – Malibu and Inspired – from the forthcoming album, said she’s ‘the most passionate’ she’s ever been over the record.
‘I say this every time, but I loved making this record so, so much,’ the chart-topping beauty said.
The We Can’t Stop singer delved into her past habits, telling Fallon, ‘It’s like no one’s ever died from weed, but no one’s ever smoked as much as I did!’
Miley told Fallon she’s ‘always been very stoned on [his] shows,’ referencing a past appearance she made in October of 2015.
‘It’s weird to be here; Remember the last time I was here? I was dressed as a bunny rabbit and then like a cat. There’s a reason for that – I was high!’
The Tonight Show wasn’t the only famed NBC franchise Miley linked with her past marijuana use, as she told Fallon she ‘kept having this nightmare’ that she’d overdose on marijuana while hosting Saturday Night Live.
